EV + EV Charger rebates

Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming an increasingly popular choice for drivers in British Columbia. To encourage the adoption of EVs and the installation of EV chargers, the government has implemented several rebate programs. By providing financial incentives for the purchase and installation of EVs and charging stations, the government hopes to make it more affordable and convenient for Canadians to transition to cleaner transportation.

CleanBC Go Electric Program

One of the most significant rebate programs is the CleanBC Go Electric Program. This program offers rebates of up to $4,000 for the purchase or lease of new battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The rebate amount depends on the battery capacity and vehicle type, with the highest rebate being offered for vehicles with a battery capacity of 16 kilowatt-hours or more. In addition to the vehicle rebate, the program also provides up to $350 for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 home charging station.

CleanBC Go Electric EV Charger Rebate Program

The CleanBC Go Electric EV Charger Rebate Program provides rebates of up to 50% of the purchase and installation costs of Level 2 charging stations, to a maximum of $2,000 per station. This program is open to homeowners, strata buildings, businesses, and local government entities in British Columbia.

Zero-Emission Vehicles Program

The government of Canada is currently offering the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) Program to help make electric cars more affordable for everyone!

If you’re interested in purchasing a battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, or longer-range plug-in hybrid vehicle with an electric range of 50 km or more, you will be eligible for up to $5,000 off the purchase price! If you’re looking at a shorter-range plug-in hybrid electric vehicle with an electric range under 50 km, you will be eligible for up to $2,500 off!

It’s important to note that this incentive is only available for brand new electric vehicles, and it will be applied at the dealership when you make your purchase. The dealer must apply taxes and fees to the purchase or lease before applying the incentive and they have to submit all the required  documentation. The incentive will appear right on your bill of sale or lease agreement, so you’ll know exactly how much you’re saving.
