Maarten, originally from the Netherlands, moved to Canada in 2005. As a fresh Human Kinetics graduate from UBCO, he embarked on a successful business journey with his family before founding Solos Energy. His passion for solar sparked during travels, witnessing the impact of climate change firsthand. Now, as a devoted leader, Maarten aims to raise awareness about renewable energy. He prioritizes safety, quality, and a positive work environment within our team. Beyond work, Maarten cherishes time with his beautiful daughter, embraces outdoor activities, and enjoys riding his motorcycle.

Originally from The Netherlands, Liza found her home in the picturesque Okanagan in 2014. Transitioning from a healthcare career to the wine industry, Liza's perspective shifted after becoming a mother. Recognizing the importance of the planet's future, she strives for mindful choices, believing they impact generations to come.

Driven by her passion for people and clean energy, Liza loves being part of Solos Energy. Behind the scenes, her diligence ensures Solos Energy operates seamlessly.

Off-duty, Liza treasures moments with her daughter, husband, and dog. Whether traveling, riding motorcycles, or enjoying the outdoors, her zest for life extends beyond the workplace.

Meet Desmond, our advocate for positive impact through energy efficiency. With a global perspective shaped by a love for travel, Desmond is dedicated to creating cost-effective and eco-friendly lifestyles. Beyond the numbers, you'll find him on basketball court, emphasizing teamwork – a value he carries into his professional collaborations. Passionate about sustainable living, Desmond directs his efforts towards championing energy efficiency. Having led sales teams in the past, he draws on his experience to strengthen teamwork and refine communication and marketing strategies. Whether on the court or in the office, Desmond is committed to making a positive impact, one that transcends financial gains and contributes to a more sustainable future for all.

This is Evan, a dedicated professional at Solos Energy and a seasoned journeyman electrician. Originally from Ireland, Evan has had the pleasure of traveling the beauty of the world. Now, Canada stands as his final destination, where he has committed years to expanding his expertise in both solar electricity and personal training. Evan takes pride in his journey, having explored numerous roles and positions, all of which contribute to his advantage in his current role. With a passion for sustainable energy, he finds his calling at Solos Energy, where his knowledge and interests align perfectly. Evan is not just an employee; he's a proud contributor to the Solos Energy team, bringing a wealth of experience and a global perspective to the forefront of our mission.

As a dedicated professional, Paul embarked on his electrical journey in 2015, achieving journeyman status by 2019. Inspired by a passion for solar energy, he spent two transformative years in Australia, installing residential solar systems. Returning to Canada in 2021, armed with four years of experience and a master's qualification, Paul proudly lead the charge as a pioneer in the Canadian solar industry. Since joining Solos in May 2023, Paul has played a key role in completing solar projects, prioritizing quality and thoroughness. His commitment extends to educating both young and old, contributing to a sustainable future. Paul finds joy in collaborating with unique and forward-thinking individuals and ensuring Solos' commitment to advancing clean energy solutions remains unwavering.

Kane is our dedicated apprentice electrician who brings a zest for active pursuits to our team at Solos Energy. He discovered his passion for the solar industry here, driven by a love for quality work and an unending desire to learn. Proudly navigating every aspect of his apprenticeship, Kane's commitment extends beyond personal growth. He strives to contribute to a sustainable future for his community and the environment. As he refines his skills, Kane takes pride in delivering top-notch craftsmanship, fueled by a genuine desire to make a positive impact through his work.

This is Gerard! With a career starting in the mid-80s, he took charge of his parents' plumbing business, focusing on solar thermal energy. Today, with over 35 years in renewable energy, he brings hands-on expertise to every project, from development and funding to construction and operational maintenance. As the co-founder of Renesco and GreenIPP, Gerard has led international initiatives and sits on advisory boards globally. As a sustainability advocate, he co-authored textbooks and now shares his wealth of knowledge through consulting for industry leaders worldwide. 

Introducing Bentley, our resident fur-bassador with zero solar expertise but a heart full of enthusiasm! This ball-chasing, stick-loving, belly-scratch aficionado is the true MVP of our team. When he's not soaking up the sun, Bentley can be found perfecting his backstroke in Okanagan Lake or outrunning the fastest of shadows. While he may not be a solar whiz, Bentley's boundless energy and infectious joy make him an essential part of our team!
